Muses

Spanish painters. Velazquez, and everything Manet copied from him. Learning how to paint darks.

Edith Piaf. She seemed so indulgent in all the best ways possible.

Max Beckmann. This is at Harvard's art museum, I have to see it.

Dexter.

Fellini films. Marcello. Nico is a fool and I love it. I love her deep voice.

Guiletta Masina's from La Strada. Awkward beauty.

Henri Cartier-Bresson. He was the first photographer I ever discovered. Has been a favorite since I was 16. His retrospective at MOMA, specifically his American photos which capture greed and excess. When I saw this photo of some old wrinkly pervert getting an oil rubdown on a roof in Miami it struck a chord.

Magritte

Bjork tattoos.
